Namaste!

May we ask you to look at the image above? Do you see a "P" mark, which is actually not there at all! This illusion happens because the white spaces are constrained by Pac-Man like structures and our brains do something called "filling-in".  Once you see the "P-Sign", you cannot unsee it, want to try? This is because brain's perceptual processes are constrained by past information. Once you know that "it seems to be there; it seems to be there!" The key word is constraints! Based on this keyword, we study how biological constraints could lead to the regime of consciousness. We also study how the triad of biological-psychological-sociological factors constrain, contextualize and influence the experience of health and disease.

The Two Questions we're asking

We take an empirically-falsifiable position that consciousness is not an entity but a biology-constrained regime, which computationally uses cross-modal abstraction to guide biological survival by generating a sense-of-self, sense of environment and the mutual interactions between these two poles. This view has several implications for clinical handling of disorders of consciousness and conscious state transitions. The question we are asking is, can this premise of ours lead to clinically meaningful interventions and engineering tranquil states of human experience. The second question we are asking is based on a premise that every individual with a health condition carries a unique "bio-psycho-social" signature. Using a set of multi-national longitudinal registries, we are exploring how these bio-psycho-social" signatures can be used to contextualize and individualize evidence-based medicine in psychiatry, neurology, immunology, infectious disease endocrinology and dentistry.

Our Research and Innovation Gateway

Science

Scientific investigations of Placeboes Research foundation are organized under two broad programs called COBRA (constraint-based Bayesian Residue Approach) and CIBEM (contextualization and individualization of evidence-based medicine. Data for these programs comes from 16 sub-programs comprising of multinational longitudinal registries spanning psychiatry, immunology. infectious disease, Neurology, endocrinology and Dentistry (PIINED).

Technology

Our Technological pursuits are classified under three headers: (1) Human-gated, AI-enabled cybernetic systems for health care and consciousness modulating endpoints. (2) Medical Applications of AI-guided Virtual Reality (3) Context-Sensitive Affordable Innovations for Disease-alleviation, (4) Novel Information encoding systems embedded in viability-constrained architectures, Fluorescent/ phosphorescent substrates & ecological networks.

World-View

We at Placeboes Research Foundation work with seven world views. These are not hand-waived arm-chair philosophies for us. Rather, they define our positions, methodological paradigms and guide our routine research and innovation pursuits. These world views have been inspired by the work of a host of thinkers whose combined knowledge guide us like a "north star" in our scientific and technological navigation.

Sustainable Networks

Deeply inspired by the works of Dr. Fritzoff Capra on Sustainable networks, we have developed a research and innovation called model called sustainable Health care networks for promoting health and alleviating of burden of disease. This model operates on the principle that "boundaries are for identity; not separation" and forms the core principle of our network development for research and innovation at a multinational scale
